This policy explains how Leaving California Movers, operated by Leaving California Movers ("we," "us"), collects, uses and shares personal information, and the rights California residents have under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Information we collect
- Identifiers and contact details: name, email, phone number.
- Move details: origin ZIP, destination state and city, home size, move date, requested extras.
- Consent records: the exact consent language you agreed to, timestamp, IP address, browser user agent and page URL.
- Internet activity: pages visited, referrer, advertising parameters (such as UTM tags, fbclid, gclid), and data collected by cookies and pixels (Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, Google Ads).
How we use it
- To match you with up to 3 interstate movers and let them contact you about your move.
- To keep records of your consent and comply with law.
- To measure and improve our advertising and website.
- To prevent fraud and abuse.
How we share it
Partner movers. When you submit a request, we share your contact information and move details with up to 3 independent, FMCSA-registered moving companies, which pay us for these requests. Under the CCPA this may be considered a "sale" of personal information. Each mover uses your information under its own privacy policy.
Affiliated service. Requests are also stored in a central lead system operated with our sister site, Move Out of California, for processing and record-keeping.
Advertising and analytics providers. Meta and Google receive information through pixels and tags. This may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Service providers and legal. Hosting and database providers, and authorities when required by law.
Your California rights
- Right to know and access the personal information we collect.
- Right to delete and to correct personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. We honor Global Privacy Control signals.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA).
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

Retention
We keep request and consent records for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations, generally no longer than necessary for those purposes.
Text messages and calls
You can opt out of texts by replying STOP, and ask any caller to stop calling. See Consent to contact.
Children
Our service is not directed to people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
